Its a must fit on mine, had the blue and the yellow ones and you can only see the blue is a colder light, the glass looks blue when its off. I am not so sure about the dip and full beam as it doesn't have the small hood built into the bulb, but I have a standard halogen for MOT time. We have a guy in the club with a series 1 and it looks like he has a candle compared with the reedspeed but I do have the DC Vessel conversion, another one of my must fits and then bright LED rear lights

great bulbs at least twice as bright as a norm hal bulb well worth the money

We fitted a 35/35W Xenon today while checking wiring/electrics were all correct. It worked famously for a minute or so, turned it off, followed by the engine. Restarted the engine shortly after, turned lights on...nothing.

It had blown virtually after fitting. Had a mate in one ear telling me he'd had two go the same way and had gone back to Halogens. Are they really that fragile, could it be my electrics (tested though today and all readings seemed fine) or maybe just this particular bulb?

Bulb was from a dealer as opposed to Ebay, so was hoping for a bit of Q/C after paying a tenner.

Anything to look out for with them, or things to check on the bike before possibly fitting another and it going pop too.

I have an Xenon bulb, works well and even though night riding is pretty rare for me these days unless it's winter it's a lot better than the old one & I'm confident with it.

Can any other than 35/35W be fitted? As I've seen Xenon bulbs with the same fitment but stronger wattages for half the price.

I ride at night a fair amount and live in the sticks at the moment so not much street lighting either. Would like another after seeing how bright this one (briefly) was...maybe best to suss out why it popped before just putting another one in.

H4 conversion is fairly straightfoward, the 55/60 watt lights are fantastic (Osram Nightbreaker better still) and available from any garrage/accessory shop. Converted both of my scoots

I pass Halfords most days. Seen plenty of bulbs in there, but none the same as mine that had blown. What is involved to convert bulb holder etc for H4 use? Mates are saying stop reading daft ideas on I
nternet and stick with halogens...want to show that they work alright and more importantly last!

heres how i did my series 1, i put an o ring in lense to stop light bleed back.

i then fitted a osram nightbreaker h4 bulb into light unit , put a h4 connector on bulb got from here
