Yes, definitely 1981, I wrote off the white & red GP in the pic with the 'pub food' sign a week before Scarboro Easter 1981. Still got the pics of the damage!

i remember many a long night helping gary build it but i thought it was about 87 ish. it used to be the matt green chop that was on the cover of scootering about 86ish gary bought it of furdie who had one of the first spurgeon sprayjobs on his gp ghosttown, which he still rides now
good story, i've ridden that chopper then!

and excellent pics, nobody looks like they're worrying about having the correct brake pedal rubber or matching bolts on the flywheel cowling...

First big one for me also. Hitched up there from Ipswich, got a lift back from Zob?(Motown P) from the Yarmouth Sidewinders. Mental.

great pics much prefer to see old pics like these, went to Scarborough that year on the back of a 150 super that split in the middle we had the handlebars down by our knees :shocking: still got it home though but it never got used again.
