dont like the idea of an auto engine in a lambretta but i do think the more modern wheels ,brakes and carbon makes it look like a new breed of lambretta, i much prefer this full bodied version rather than a cut up/chop down,
keep up the good work,
regards
joe
ps, frank, i keep reading that scooterists would like to know the costs of carbon bits and you never reply!

You know what they say, "If Sir has to ask, Sir can't afford." ;)

cost is all important, and remember i'm from yorkshire!
i have respect for a lot scooterist who build what may be a 'wild idea' but when they come like this one it is a great to see what 'one mans inititive' can achieve.
a few hve commented on the machine being 'perched' too high ,i would think that this is to get the 'big lump shoe horned ' in to such a tight spot and using 'what is available in wheel and tyre sizes and attempting to keep it looking like a lambretta!
nice work,keep 'em' coming.
regards
joe

In reply to costs of wide carbon panels they are the same as our std width carbon panels all our products are priced in shop sects on website http://www.lambrettainnovation.co.uk just click on product icon on lower left of home page there are quite a few pics of our auto convs with 10 "wheels in past projects sect .Its basicly down to the customers spec John wanted 13"wheels others want 10" its all personal preference .
our New 250 4 stroke full carbon fibre full built brand new production S5 is going to run on 12" rear and 10 "front like the carbon fibre twin. I will put some pics up of the new 2 stroke version carbon kit with the 10 " fitted in another thread the new 2 and 4 stroke frames are completely made in house the only thing we dont make are the rear frame crossmember and the bearing sets!

Whilst I'm a Series 5 fan, I must say this one looks like a Lambretta body perched on top of a pair of oversize wheels (a very nice carbon body IMO). Is the suspension too high or something as I've not found this to be as noticable of other Series 5's
I think the pipe gives it the impression it looks like it sits higher aswell with the muffler swooping underneath. I've got one of Franks Series 5's with a straight PM pipe and it doesn't look to sit as high as this one.

Still a nice looking scoot though, with some nice bits on it. Whats the spec of the motor?

We have been making brand new frames from our own components with removable carbon fibre or fibreglass rear sects for use on lots of our scooter projects for many yrs.

As a manufacturer we have to test any product we produce before we can offer it for sale this is why sometimes things we produce are not put on sale or even advertised for long periods while they undergo this prooving period.

An example of which is the carbon bodied twin this scooter was designed not only to house the twin cyl engine but also to test the limits of the frame structures seen in the pics of the new kit before its release for general sale, examples are shown below of some previous projects using similair parts .

loads more stuff can be seen @ http://www.lambrettainnovation.co.uk
