Look at the specification, it is 2.5mm diametre but only 6amp or 10amp commercial rating. The thin wall cable from Vehicle wiring products is 2.1mm diameter but 16.5 amp rating! Even though the strand make up is identical (32 x 0.2mm) the rating is different, this will down to the grade of conductor and insulation.

Additionally, the Maplin price is £1.19 per metre! The Vehicle wiring Products price is 32p per metre, just a bit different even when you add VAT!

shorter is better, but in most lambretta applications on the road you won't notice the difference.

It will be negligible, because the HT current is minuscule.
