I HAVE A SPARK not sure if it is wired correct as such but i have a saprk the bike runs well, and i have all lights, i also noted that the new bgm stator has re4sulted in a constant light even at lowere revs, the bike also seems to pickup better.

for those who want to know what i did;
i had the green from igntioin in the \cdi but above that i alsoo had a seperate purple and a white wire joined together in the top connector and a brown in the one below meaning i had no space to put red green and white from the stator into it, which is why previously all 4 wires went into the junction box, anyway i took the yellow wire to the regulator and then tried connecting the remaining green white and red to the wires already in the CDI ie purple white and white in top, brown and red in next then the green from stator then the green from ignition, and all sessms well. i have left the other wires that were in the junction box as they were. my thinking is that the purple and white and the brown must be linked to the junction box somehow, but not sure! i dont think it coul do any damage this way but if anyone knows a reson why it would plese let me know. i did also not the wiring loom is gettiing brittle in places and am going to get a new one at some point, has anyone made there own as i quite fancy the challenge as i might learn something about how the electrics work that way

Making your own would be quite straight forward, especially if you don't keep the junction box. Getting the correct colour wire shouldn't be difficult but I'm not sure where you'd get the sleeving from. Knowledge on nhere is your man for the right type of connectors and a decent crimping tool.

the way i have wired it for now by living everything as was but taking the green, red and white and going straight into the CDI by joing the red and white with other wires already in the CDI cant do any harm then? could it overload the CDI unit in anyway, im kinda thinking its ok and then the mroe i think the more i get paranoid about it as previoulsy the power obviously came from the stotor then into the juction box and then into the stator by the wires nthat ive now addes the red and white stator ones to. however now its straight into the stator will the power then go into the CDI from the stator and back up into the junction box? not sure if that makes sense as im not really sure as im having problems working it out in my head, but i no what im trying to say

You won"t overload the stator unless you managed to put a short circuit on. You can"t have done that otherwise you'd have no light if you pull any modern loom apart yo will find joints and splices hidden inside the sheathing so I personally wouln"t be too concerned. The wiring on a scoot really is very simple, it's just those hidden splices and junction boxes that appear to make it complicated

Thanks coaster for all your input, ive road the scoot from ryde to newport (isle of Wight) and back yesterday and today in the torrential rain and floods and scoot did not miss a beat, all lights are working so not really sure exactly what purpose the other wires served going into the stator, but it doesnt seem to matter i might get the multimeter out again when the weather drys up to see if i can find where they go, it will also get me used to using the multimeter as ive got a book to have a look at that explains there use and im sure ill be needing to use it again sometime in the future.
