clutches get hot of course.. expand and if you dont have enough slack in the cable this can cause them to slip. usually tho it will continue slipping if this is the case. I'd think it more likely the outer is too short or it caught on something.

Latest update: went out on bike today and it wasn't ticking over evenly so took for a little ride and got to traffic lights and tick over was up to about 4k. Turned round to go home, got about 100 yds and revs went to 8-9k shut ignition of and it kept screaming so I stalled it. Stripped panel of and found a huge crack in my inlet manifold so I'm hoping it isn't a clutch problem but will know more next weekend.

latest update . i have found what cracked my manifold ,it was my rear set bracket bolt fouling it and manifold moving against it stressed it. sorting tomorrow
