I'll rise to the hair splitting.

AF Rayspeed cranks that don't have the right size pin in, stators that need rewiring before you fit them (and need the case modding to fit), fresco exhausts that blow to pieces within 100 miles.
Broadhurst's rims that don't sit flat. Various plastic bits that need adjusting before fitting (fork bits, brake pedal bush), tank straps that are too long, handlebar housing for a master cylinder that doesn't come close to fitting - comparing to one from Saigon, that fits beautifully.
Looms from three different manufacturers that were all fit for the bin. One Casa (admittedly not UK), one Broadhurst, and one from a peddlar at a parts' fair.
From asia, I've had:
A headset, that came complete. That's really complete. Not missing a couple of bits that you need to order separately. It all works perfectly, and doesn't need shimming. The finish was ready to paint, not needing a skim of filler.
An SX horncasting and mudguard. Both of which are on my bike without filler.
A disc brake, which is working fine. I know of two other people with them, and they're both working without problem.

There's more.. bound to be.. but it's half eight at night, and Grand Designs is on.

Sounds like you need to succoumb and buy a Vespa. Far superior with less moving parts so less not to fit ;)
You know it makes sense :D

Sold in the UK doesn't mean made in the UK. Admitedly some of these items have a UK name on them, but tend to be made abroad; however, once the contact is awarded, quite often the standards slip. I'm not anti Asia or any other continent, I was just curious of your experiences.

Since this thread was about exhausts I'll leave you with this anecdotal info: I ran my Taffspeed Mark 4 road exhaust on my GP 200 when it was a Honda 205 and siezed hard on the M6 (my own fault) in the rain and ended up sliding along next to my bike from 70 mph. The exhaust saved the frame from considerable damage and all it suffered was a very mild dent and some road rash to the expansion body. I ran that same exhaust on my TS1 200 (with a downpipe change to match the kit) for 3 years and then years later gave the exhaust to a mate who helped me many times and stored my bike for years. The exhaust was still in excellent condition, aside from the dent. More than 70 percent of my riding during this period was in the wet as it tends to be in Eire, especially in the Spring, and Summer, and Autumn. I have no doubt that it would give 10 years of service had I kept it. I only changed to a DevTour to match the MB tuned TS1 230 and lower gearing and have been more than pleased with the exhaust. Fit, finish, and build quality are excellent.
