MRB 190 running issues

it wont matter if the piston is above the bottom of the exhaust port at bdc as long as the transfers are fully open, are you sure the inlet timing is correct as what you say might indicate excessive duration, as its a c**t to start but revs ok id have another look at it, do you get alot of fuel standoff when you try to rev it ? a mate of mine had a 190 that behaved the same albeit using an li barrel and too much was taken off the inlet side of the skirt as it was done before the barrel was rebored, that was hard to start and really boggy below 5000rpm, have you tried a different carb ? cos it could make all the difference regardless if its ok on something else

Just letting you know! Well I've checked it, and re checked it (me old fella, check twice cut once) all as posted.
Not tried another carb, havent got one, got a 30mm delly but its a four stroke.

Update! got it running, couldnt sell the varitronic so put that on, once started seems ok, rebuilt and re checked everything, squish may have been a bit large..
now set at approx 1.2mm
Will continue with the build, gaskets and the like and stick it in my scoot and put a few miles on it to make sure its ok then I'm selling it, what do we think its worth? :bouncing:
