These are little more than an electric fan. You need to be pushing air in at about 50,000-100,000 rpm to do anything at all. First saw these when I was looking for a small turbo for the PK project. Save your cash.

And there's loads on ebay!
Edit: I asked which racers use one on their Lambretta.
Hi
Thanks for your enquiry.
The technology is a direct development from the motorbike race scene.
It has been developed for performance bikes, and has now been developed for scooters.
Obviously the race pedigree that the technology originated from is the superbike league.
What do you ride ?
Kind regards
Need4Speed
I'm pretty sure the big four motorcycle manufacturers aren't using these on any of their current sports models.

Wasn't Richard T doing a supercharger for vespa autos?
What type of supercharger was used on the record breaking Lambretta in the 1950's?

The supercharger I drew up was a three lobe roots type, positive displacement. I don't know about the one on the streamliner, I never got a look at it. From that time it will either be a roots or possible a vane type the only other type would be a reciprocating type like the early DKW bikes.
I canned the auto supercharger because the main bearing shells were not up to it.
The elctronic fans that are being offered here are no good, even on car applications where battery power & space isn't an issue there is little advantage, you'd be better of working on a good ram air induction system. No information is given on the pressure, volume produced for the power required to run the fan. Then there are issues like space and inlet porting timing etc. Lets be totally honest, the people selling these parts have NO experience of performance Lambretta engines. If there were serious, they'd have built and tested their own, the fact they have not tells you loud and clear it is BS.
The best solution I saw for forced induction was that German Vespa turbo set up at the end of the expansion pipe, I wouldn't have believed that until I saw the pictures of the assembly out of the bike.
