Is the spider new? If its an older one, has the turrets got grooves worn into the sides of them from the old clutch corks/plates? Are the legs of the spider bent in any way? Is the clutch basket perfectly flush when held onto some glass sheet? Also some peeps have found that their brand new spider has the large circlip groove machined in the wrong height. Worth checking. Seen some threads with photos of them, possibly here or LCGB. Try a search.

Thanks Lee.

Trying to get my head round this.

Got my Son this afternoon, so I can't check yet.

I have got a very stiff clutch, that doesn't work.

I put it in gear and pull the clutch and it doesn't work at all.

I've adjusted the clutch so tight, you could stand it.

This is just about the last thing needed to sort, so I can see if I have the faintest chance of getting it running.

6 plate Camlam jobbie. All seems well when using the clutch compressor.
Are you sure its not just stuck together ? as they will stick together if left for a while.

Diablo got it.

The Flange isn't seating fully. The middle is hitting the gear cluster.

Now how the hell do I get out of that?! Filing away at the middle to give more room would weaking the flange, wouldn't it?

You did fit the shim under the rear sprocket, didn't you? Think from memory you can get different thickness ones. It may be possible for you to fit a slightly thicker one, which should give you a bit more clearance, but check your chain alignment with the front sprocket.

It's the make, nothing special, but it's used with the Foxhat spider and seems to have better clearance and enables it to sit deeper. They only come as Li type, but you just grind the nipple off and away you go. They're not overpriced either.

Thanks for the info Mike. If this doesn't work I'll get in touch with AF for a flange.

Dapper, I Had used a shim, but I doubled up with another and did the same on the front sprocket too.

An improvement. But I ran out of time.

The clutch is still really stiff, but I don't know if it will loosen, once it's running?
