jonny snatchsniffer wrote:when you say a 175 kit, it could mean anything, my set up on a tuned 175/li150 barrel was 180 exhaust 125 transfers and 165 inlet, with a 30mm phbh it had an av 266, main 128, cant remember the needle tho, 40 slide filed to suit, running with a pm pipe
175 kit is one i bought over the counter ,think its an af alloy with not a lot of tuning done to it..kev

If as you say you fitted the filter in order to stop spit back inside the panels ,you wont need to up jet as the filter will restrict only slightly the air flow, and as some of the lads commented so far, you might be running a little rich already!

Sorry for the hijack, kinda have a similar prob. 24mm PHBL, haven't checked jets, but what's in it is what was in it when purchased. Have a foam filter fitted to carb mouth. Find that sometimes when accelerating in 3rd it bogs down a bit. Clubman exhaust on a SIL 200 engine. Starts no bother but find that it needs a lot of choke when starting cold. And it also dies when left idling even when warm after driving for a decent bit. Any thoughts on what jetting I should have.
Cheers.
