Timing problems

have you marked your t.d.c accurately. ????
when you say it shows 30 degrees, how are you measurig that???

Are the points gapped correctly? Too large a gap will advance the timing.

Decided to try the fag paper trick and it seems to have made a difference, also the points were a bit far apart so now I have it nearly spot on. Thanks to everyone
