My bet goes to a stator problem.
The joint in the LT coil is loose and needs soldering.

I might be wrong,though...

Before you start swapping bits go for the simple stuff first.
Its a consistent problem and remedy therefore its unlikely that somethings knackered.

When he changes the plug it runs fine for a while then stops,changes plug and off it goes again.........the first thing id be looking at is the length of the HT lead,if its too short when he goes over a bump and the engine pivots it will be pulling itself away from the plug,after he changes the plug he refits the cap properly and off he goes til he gets to the next bump in the road.......

I had a similar problem with a spanish Li. It turned out that the inlet on the carb was partially blocked. Once the float ball ran dry if I waited a few mins then it filled up agin and started up ok (took a while to find it though). Maybe worth checking.

He did try several new plugs and a couple of plug caps already, also the HT lead is plenty long, so not that.

Will look at pickup and LT coil....
