Reverse cone with VW silencer

Are they that bad, or are we all a bunch of old farts. I had a go on one today and it didnt seem much different to my JL3.

If my memory seves me well, Ray Kemp was blasting round ahead of nearly everything on scooter wheels using a reverse cone big bore exhaust on his Group 6 race scooter, didnt seem to slow him down much......But was it loud :shock:

I remember all the neighbours down our street when i was a kid knocking on my parents door complaining about my older brother on his sx200 with clubman (vw) and the noise...we lived down a small closed street and he would come in late on a night and as he turned into our street he would open it out full and he had a 30mm dell on as well, i thought it well funny...it used to echo down the street and make the tele go fuzzy....good days :lol: :lol: :mrgreen:

If you get the ones with the clamp in tailpipe . you just need another tailpipe for the mot take out the inner crimp it in a vice to reduce the size a bit more packing then replace into outer a couple of pinches round the bottom to hold it all together and refit , only use it for the mot or your motor will over heat ,plus it runs like a bag of sh1t . but means you dont have to change your pipe . always worked for me
