Decided that high revving motors with not a lot of torque wasn't for me so as well as getting the frame welded and alignment checked by a well known frame and alignment checker in Manchester I also decided to go for a Mugello 225 as he sold these as well. As the sprayer he used was "not the cheapest but one of the best" I decided in good faith to leave the whole scoot with him for a refurb...............

Role on early 2009. Although all seemed well from a distance I had issues with the sprayjob from day 1. These included 2 different shades of white used

Also paint chipping away in under 500 miles........... I was also less than impressed with the work done on the engine.........60/116 crank catching in the crankcase because a groove wasn't cut in, a barrel that was supposed to have the exhaust and inlet matched to the manifolds but when I took the barrel off I found that this hadn't been done, left hand engine mount that collapsed in under 400 miles................
As well as having a valve let go on the front wheel on one of those safe as f**k tubeless rims on the way to Kelso I was getting a bit pissed off to put it mildly. And at one stage was seriously thinking of jacking it all in.
Enter Stuart Owen at 100mph Lambretta Club. Now I've known Stuart for many years and he's also done the engines for my 2 mates Dave and Steve, they go very well. I had a chat and he told me to bring my scoot to him to look at. At this stage I'd managed to get a full refund for the "sprayjob" from the previous place. So we stood there for a couple of hours thinking about how we could change things..........................

Well last Saturday I picked it up from Stuart. Now running an iron 225, 30 phbh and 42 clubman. Li 125 gears @ 18/47.
