New clutch spider problem

Just fitted a new spider as it was knacked was meant to be the same spider but can't get clutch to engage now, so they must be some slight diffrance in height or something same plates and clutch. Tried slightly thinner top and bottom plate doesn't engage at all. Adjusted cable as much as I can doenst seem to engage. Do I go thicker steels plates or thinner or any other ideas

Have you put the spiders side by side to see if theres any visible difference ? Are the steel plates free in the new spider ? Also check the spring locating holes , do they line up with pressure plate properly as some dont

Cheers sorted spider was slightly taller so got it altered and it's fine now
