I want to get a pair to protect the rubber from contamination. What internal diameter do they need to be? ( Nowhere near me scoot to measure). Have looked on Evil bay and varied prices.

If it's helps, British/Euro tow bar balls are 50mm o/d and USA/ Canada are 2" o/d.

Those don't fit they are just a fraction to small ID. They are a very hard plastic that breaks if you try and persuade them on......from experience
Some can foul the petrol tap due to the OD and lip
I've found the best ones (in plastic black and chrome) are the RING branded ones
