wouldn't it be best to find out whats causing it, rather than trying to paper over it ? probably a wire shorting out. I think 8 or 10 amp fuse is the normal .

thanks it has been a wiring nightmare i keep soldering up the switch on the left handlebar but the gearchange seems to loosen it very quickly [so it could be that] it seems to only last about 250 miles it could have become loose again ,any suggestions of a solution to this problem?

I did what yamlam suggested even though the thought of removing my headset fills me with horror not only does it have the usual spaghetti it also has indicators 3 lights on headset an extra cable for fuel light it also has all the extra cables serveta decided to add for lights cutout etc .everything fine. I checked the full loom everything fine .the problem is it doesn't trip everytime which is always harder to trace about to give up when I felt the fuse holder was red hot ,it had been arcing out[wire loose]finally solved and repaired until the next time

mine was supposed to be 12v but after stripping it was 6v, after speaking to someone[all wiring diagrams say 12v] I was told the lynx was put together by every spare bit they had in the factory yours is probably 12v but don't be surprised if it isnt
