Hey everyone, i used to go scooter racing with my good friend Tim back in the late 80s and we had a real blast. My fondest memories were not of the actual racing but the hill climb events. I can't recall where we would drive up to [from Norwich] but these hill climbs were just the best in terms of fun, friendliness and not too much competition [bet thats changed!].
Now i am approaching 50, far too old and poor [and too much of a pussy] to actually race - i am thinking of building a hill climber, question is; do these events still take place and if so where could i find out more about them please?
Many thanks in advance and warmest from London.

Hi
Are you referring to the off road hill climbs?

I used to work with a woman that did hill climbs. She rode something massive that was nitro enhanced, and loved it. I think there are plenty around - try these people https://www.hillclimbandsprint.co.uk/calendar-all.asp

Either off road, on road, up the side of damns, viaducts or what ever steep incline one can find!
Eddie, many thanks for the tip and i'll have a look at that now.
When we were doing it in the 80s the bikes were tuned and developed specifically for the events, that said my mate just raced his group 4 and 6 bikes.....such fun.
Hi fella
Saltburn in North Yorkshire have an annual hill climb event, Sunday the 9th of September this year.
Just looked though the event is now full.
But well worth the watch and a beautiful part of the world to boot.
Good luck cheers
