Think they're two pieces on a taper. The Indian and Italian tapers are different so won't interchange.....not sure what the Spanish taper is ?

I may be wrong but I understood that the Indian or Italian taper refers to the diameter of the headset and the aluminium bit. It’s fatter on one over the other. Fit the wrong one and you have a step at the join. I thought the steel tube was cast into the aluminium bit so one piece, an adult will be along soon.

Yep it is! Just ordered a 5 speed replacement, only got a 4 speed at the other end......feels like that MCDonalds advert where the boy glues carpet to his slippers to save on carpeting his house!

Could you not just have put the 5 on with a sharpie?

Intending on putting a 5 in its original engine which is on the bench atm. My t’other bike has a 5 with a 4 handlebar...so I’m not a total fraudster!!!
