Just been talking with a guy in scarborough.
He said he has had a 200 barrell fitted to his px125 after the px blew a piston last year on route to brid.
Is it possible to fit a 200 barrell on px casing and if so what is involved?
I did not realise it could be done.

A mate of mine fitted a 200 barrel to a Rally 180 but had to turn down the spigot. Not sure if what you are saying can be done, or whether it's just another scootering urban myth.

Cheers.

PX125 cases have different stud spacing to the 200 cases, so you’d need to drill & tap new barrel stud holes in your 125 cases to suit a 200 barrel.
Not sure if you’d also need to add some material around the gasket face area to accommodate a 200 barrel.

I did not think it could be done without a lot of effort.
But the guy i was speaking to said it had. He told me he had bought a 200 cylinder. But he wasnt sure what the mechanic did to get it to fit.
I only see him fleetingly as he works for a supplier i use.
I only started talking with him a few years ago as he had a scooter, and i mentioned i had a few.
Next time i see him i shall try and get the phone number of the mechanic who did it. Find out what he did.
It just got me curious and was wondering if it could be done. If so once i finish my other 3 scooters..i may consider it ...as it seems easier to obtain 125 casings than 200 casings.
My original thought was that it was a166 or 177 kit or whatever they are with a long stroke crank shaft.
But as i say i really dont know...

Is he the sort of person that would take the cowl off to have a look, or would believe the DR180 kit on his engine is the 200 barrel he supplied?

Not sure to be honest on that one muttley.
But he does seem a straight up older guy.
Probably not to mechanically minded.
I shall try and find out. Just to satisfy my own need to know :D

The only other thought i had...was that what he thought he had was a px125 in fact turned out to be p200 cases with a 125 barrell on it.

You do that Ginch? Or did someone do it for you?
Very impressive either way.
Whats the ball park figure for that done?
Or is ot just cheaper to buy (if you can get them ) px/e engine cases.
