If you have a 175 top end you need a 200 slide.Stevie W wrote:When ordering a Jetex you can specify whether it's for a 150/175 or a 200 as they have different slides.

Curious what jets your running if you have a 22 Dellorto on a 175 kit top end, remote foam filter and a after market exhaust. Just to provide me with a starting point. And are these jets interchangeable with the phbh 28/30 mm dellorto carbs? I have quite a few jets on hand for that already.

Hey,
here is the cast away that I was posting questions about. I got this 1963 Li150 for free. 4,000 miles on the odometer. It had been in an accident, abandoned outside, vandalized, and water had filled the engine. It was not pretty, but I had nothing else better to do so set about on it. I tried keeping this project to a tight budget. Here are the before and after shots. I will try starting it for the first time tomorrow. The paint is a match to my Fiat Abarth, and I will put the same car door decal on my side panel. I have a few bits and bobs still to put on, and I've got a SSC disk brake to install. The exhaust is second hand and needs a clean and some fresh high temp paint.
Technically this is "my wife's scooter" or that's how I sold her on the idea of me doing up another one. It's a 175 now and will be my daily to work driver. My other Lambretta is worth too much to leave sitting outside my office.
Again, thanks for all the help. It take a village to raise a Lambretta.

Just curious do Lambrettas draw more attention from nefarious types than say a modern Vespa?Davidsquaredson wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2018 4:50 am My other Lambretta is worth too much to leave sitting outside my office.

The only chance of my Lambretta being recognized is if I park in the old Italian or Indian neighborhoods of the city. This often leads to some nice conversations. For everyone else, it is "is that a V$spa?" . With regards to it being nicked, that was never a concern unless you lived in an area with a lot of drug users (who steal everything). Drunk people will knock them over so we have to be careful parking in an area with bars on the weekend. The biggest change came recently as a result of a USA TV show called "American Pickers". They travel around to people's yard sales buying antiques on the cheap and making a big deal how much they are actually worth. Unfortunately one of the people on the show is an old scooter boy so they started featuring the odd scooter. As its TV, value is blown way out of proportion. The net result is the great unwashed now think the old scooter they have in the barn is worth a fortune and you have to worry about them being stolen. But in perspective its still way lower than a sports bike that can be stripped for parts.onthelam wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2018 5:01 amJust curious do Lambrettas draw more attention from nefarious types than say a modern Vespa?Davidsquaredson wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2018 4:50 am My other Lambretta is worth too much to leave sitting outside my office.

Update on my freebie. We are finally getting past the complete bitch of a winter and I'll be out riding on the weekend. The odd test I have tried it seemed too rich, if I got on the gas too fast it bogged right down. Running g the 200 slide and 116 main. I'll play with it tomorrow. But funnily enough, I got another two Lambrettas. An old club mate of mine who no longer rides suggested I buy his 2 scooters (saw him at a friend's dad's funeral). For 4K $ Canadian I got a completely stock severtta jet200 and a s3 tv175 (190 now after he holed the head).

hey. I just took it for a ride this evening and its well sorted. Its a 150 bored to 175, but ports not altered. I had a ScootRS expansion chamber on it, and a sh 22mm scootopia carb. I found it across the range hard to dial in. So
I swapped in a BGM Clubman and this really helped. It was still bogging down as I opened the throttle up ( I was thinking I was running to fat and kept going down in jets) but remembered the trick of flipping the choke on. All of a sudden it was running well. So went the opposite direction with the jets and settled on a 125 main.
1-2 kicks to start and it idles on its own. Pulls away very smoothly and strong. Once warm, tick over is surprisingly low RPM and nice and smooth. I'll start riding it regularly now.
Thanks all for your suggestions.
David
