LCGB - BLOA - Concessionaires......confusion
We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm

Or you look over the shoulder of someone'sHxPaul wrote:I think people are free to discuss whatever they want, wherever they want. The fact is, you probably can't discuss stuff like this on the LCGB site, they moderate everything they don't like so if the wrong questions get asked it gets locked down.
The only way that you can know this is,if you are a member and you write something they dont like.

I don’t think the membership did vote for their representatives though did they? It’s an faux committee derived from historical greed/egos, now surrounded by sycophants, and perpetuated by apathy of voters.
What’s the exact LCGB membership number? How many ‘voted’ the current committee in? Or...more accurately, how many voted against them? THAT is the point.
The current committee ousted Kev Walsh with a vote-off, then changed the constitution to stop individual members being voted off...so that only the entire committee can be voted off. So if you turn on one....you turn on all. They rely on that twist to keep them in, and questions to their ‘authority’ kept out.
The even sadder fact is, the LCGB is actually a really great club. It has thousands of excellent members who are very passionate. Unfortunately though, a couple of bad apples at the top have a personal agenda to enforce...and enforce it they will.
Ask the wrong question once, you get your membership revoked to silence you. Ask the wrong question twice, you might get duffed up in the bogs. Walk away peacefully and start up an alternative club...expect legal action.
There’s a lot of money in the club funds. £7000 sledgehammer to crack a walnut springs to mind...and the hammer ain’t stopped swinging yet. Wait till the current numbnuts get it taken off them, the bill will be bigger yet.
Still...we all get a diary and a badge/neck warmer each year, so best not ask any questions eh!
Merry Christmas

BLOA = British Lambretta Owners Association
Facebook page here: https://m.facebook.com/groups/1270721652985801
It’s a new ‘breakaway’ Lambretta Club, using an old name, formed by an individual discontent with the current LCGB committee. The new club seems to have attracted a large membership and a lot of support very rapidly.
In a similar vein to LCGB they have club news and organise rideouts/meetings.
The name BLOA was previously used by Lambretta Concessionaires, in fact it was a sub company of LC. Later it dissolved, although remained property of LC, and Bob Wilkinson formed LCGB separately....a completely different legal entity, but still a Lambretta enthusiasts club.
The BLOA name remained commercially unused for 50+ years, until Gavin Frankland revived it recently and trademarked it so he could form an alternative option for those disenchanted with the LCGB. The second he did that, LCGB committee decided to waste members funds trying to throw their weight around and trying to crush him.
Unfortunately for them, despite what their expensive solicitor might have convinced them to the contrary (combined with their bruised egos), LCGB and BLOA were not legally linked...and Gavin Frankland now owns the TM to the name.
LCGB members now seven grand down...and counting.
