Next April marks 50 years since I got my first Lambretta- a 1962 LI150S3 reg 998PHY.
To celebrate and knock one off my "Bucket List" I'm thinking of a flying visit to Milan and more specifically the old Innocenti factory.
Before I go a few Q's:-
1) what is left of the old factory?
2) is it accessible?
3) How far is it from the airport?
4) any recommendations on local hotels? etc
5) any other relevent info?
All comments and suggestions gratefully received

1) what is left of the old factory? Not much and what is there is fairly derelict.
2) is it accessible? You can peer through wire fencing at it.
3) How far is it from the airport? Not sure exactly. But reasonably close.
4) any recommendations on local hotels? etc ......................
5) any other relevent info? Whilst in the area, go visit Vittorio Tessera's Museum. Well worth a look, it's free. Vittorio is very welcoming and speaks some English. Make a 'phone appointment with Vittrorio, so he can be sure he'll be around to open up.

This is where we stayed , its a pretty nondescript hotel , modern ,clean and has a pool , but in a fairly industrial area. Its not to far from the factory and the museum http://linate.allegroitalia.it/

What were you expecting Chris.
The factory has been shut since the 70s i believe.
If you go to Italy expecting to see hundreds of lambrettas on the streets you will be truly disapointed.
Most of them are over here nowerdays.
Various scooter hunters have imported them into the uk.
The only lambretta i saw was a model c or d...i wasnt sure which.
It was in a backstreet garage in Rome. Renovated by the garage owner. He had done a very good job of it as well.
Quite a few vespa p ranges and the odd smattering of old vespas.
Mainly twist and gos now.

The only lambretta i saw was a model c or d...i wasnt sure which.

I went to Zanzibar 10 years ago in november.
Never saw one lambretta....but hundreds and i mean hundreds of lmls...also hundreds of vintage vespas. Gs style, sprint style and various others.
Not many cars but hundreds of vespas. Seemed to be the local scooter of choice.
Im suprised someone has not started shipping them over here.
Or maybe they have and i dont know about it.

Whats an a30?
Well if you go to milan looking at the video you should be able to access the factory
I am amazed its still standing.
In this country it would have been demolished years ago and turned into houses or a shopping park.
