I think the final straw for her was one cold and frosty and very icy winters evening in 1971. We had been to a local nightclub and as I was taking her home, we rounded the corner into her street, very carefully I might add, and the wheels of the bike just went from under us. The vision of her sliding across the road in her fur coat is still very vivid Happy to say, only pride was hurt! Suppose it served its purpose at the time though!
