Building a small block engine from scratch, will probably run a casa 185 kit. Ive read that a good all round gearbox is gp200 or italian Li 150, question is, i suppose its better to buy a complete gearbox, but what are your thoughts on buying individual gears and cluster, also are the Indian Li boxs on ebay at the moment any good? Thanks for reading.

Its horses for courses and depends on kit, exhaust , carb and rider expectations......but tbh I have both an Italian GP 200 gearbox in one bike and a GP 200 indian gearbox in another and the indian one wins hands down for me personally

I run a Casa 185 kit and a GP200 gearbox. It's a good combination and enjoyable to ride.

your vijay mk2 box is a shocker, the mk1 is a good box, nearly the same as gp 200, but my choice would be the af close ratio box, its got the same 3rd and 4th as indian gp200 but its got a long first gear, then the gears are close together, ideal to keep the engine in the power, and not a big jump if you change up or down, makes riding a pleasure, you can then optimise your fanal drive ratio to match your riding style, my pal has just fitted one to his 175 and he loves it.

I'd avoid Indian Li 150 g/boxes off ebay. I got a few direct from India, on one I couldn't get the nut to screw onto the xmas tree and when I looked closer what appeared to be a thread was just a stack of single threads that weren't connected, probably the weirdest thing I've seen Lambretta wise to come from India, how it must have been cut is beyond me.
