Got a good look at a few of these at Whitby. Is it just me or do the proportions look wrong They just seem to wide and are just ugly from the rear. On a plus the front end looks great

I thought same, first time I have had a close look and back end is wide. Popular though, loads knocking about

My thoughts exactly. I was really looking forward to seeing one in the flesh. They look great photographed from certain angles. In the flesh though, they're just wrong. The front and back halves are completely mismatched. They look like two separate bikes joined together (which in a sense is what they are).

That said, they're still better looking than my GTS!
Meus Lambretta est non infractus. Is est quietus.

well all said the GTS is its own design , i,m not a fan of these but credit to the design which really brought traditional retro lines to the technology of a modern 4 stroke EU approved engine all within a tried and tested market in which it has proved very populuar ,practical and reliable only to be expected from a multi billion pound company.
Scomadi i cant see the business plan at all or the captive market they are chasing, as for backup if something unfortunate happens the key players the whole thing is up the left..............as for the design ....................its not a design to me its a bad chinese copy of whats an iconic scooter with a small following if you look at the global market that piaggio are servicing this is why i cant see the point of scomadi, as for their gp 2 stroke auto conversions they really are great at doing this i think this is where frank sandersons talents are.
Good engineer isnt nessecairly a good business man.
I wish them luck with all the hassle thats ahead.

Not a fan either. Just buy a Lambretta or a Vespa, not a thing made to look like a Lambretta but with a Vespa engine or whatever the smaller engines are? An Indian GP with an auto conversion is better in my opinion, I just don't see the appeal of a Scomadi.

I think they've pulled off a miracle fitting all that modern stuff into the lambretta shape.....I'd say in the next few years they'll be designing and building their own engines. I'd like to see them getting the rights to use the lambretta name. Maybe that'll happen too.

I kinda hope they do, frank does know what he is doing and maybe they will be as quick as the two strokes, like em or loath em it is the future I think if Brussels get their way our classics will consigned to history, there is only so much you can do to make a 2stroke ' environment friendly'

and shamrock what's wrong with Chinese, I do enjoy mine of a Friday night

Unless you prefer gts and they have their merits.
Just saying like

thats the same old scaremongering thats always trotted out though, "what if brussels"

there is no logic to that at all, classic cars are in the same boat when it comes to pollution, the biggest problem they faced was losing 4 star and theres no chat of getting rid of every classic car, or coal fired steam engine or tractor. Why do people think that 2 strokes will be banned outright when they still manufacture 2 stroke engines for lawnmowers, chainsaws, and even motorcross motorbikes?

Again though, a scomadi's not a lambretta nor ever will be whether they are liked or loathed.

Not having a pop Donnie, unless your privie to what is going on in the world we are only aware of by what we are told in the media
Your right in the there is no logic but this is a strange world in which we live and they will cherry pick what two stroke to ban have read in the media that two strokes are already banned in some European city's and if Boris gets his way in London too.
I don't think the scomadi is trying to be a lambretta but it does look more like a traditional lambretta, I have a few lammy's
Myself and a px but if i turned up at my mums and she has seen a few lambrettas she would definitely say why have you bought anyone, because. They do look like one
