just got my first lambretta, after a string of vespas, is there anyway of putting the links in with out the tool and whilst the forks are in? cheers

You can get GP ones in without the compressor [just about] because of the loose balls on the spring rod but with fixed ball type of the SX/Li is near impossible and that's with the forks out. Dropping the forks is the easy part.

Sorry to hijack on this thread?
Regarding GP buffers, im just in proceess of doin mine, & where the bottom buffer clips in on one side this has come away..
is this essential to keep the buffer in place??

You can get new buffer clips but they need welding in or you can fit theearler type of buffer that are fitted in with bolts butyou needto drill the forks for this

What the drilling if so its something you can do your self the buffers are the LI/SX type

id rather keep as std
does anywhere does the GP type & ill weld them in m8
