Hello,
I have an electrical problem with my LI150 S2
My scoot is fitted with a (SIL i think) 12v conversion kit
On Friday on my way from work it died, I am sure it's something electric

I let the scoot cool down and it restarted again, before that I realized that the lights were dimming at low and high revs.
Basically the problem shows at high revs or under pressure (going uphill)

After spending part of Sunday inspecting it I spotted and replaced a slightly peeled off HORN (brown) wire.

The scoot starts but the dim lights problem is still there though.
I am sure it will happen again

What could it be

Regards

Mmmmmmm!
Any Lambretta at tickover has dim/flickering lights.
What concerns me more is the second part of your post. It's not impossible that something is breaking down at high revs. But are you sure it's nor siezing????

Well the dimming lights are happening also at normal speed, sometimes the lights go off.
Also rear light goes off but stop light comes on if I hit the brake.

Other than that I've had no problem with the engine dying.

Tha problem is that I have to go home in a couple of hours (with no lights).

Thanks

Only a guess but you might just have a bad earth on the stator and the vibration of the engine when running is maintaining an intermittent earth causing the lights to dim and brighten and go on and off... its where I would check if no other fault in the wiring and switch gear can be found... hope you sort it mate...

Check that white earth wire from headlight unit to rim is okay.

it also sounds to me that maybe higher revs/vibrations.........are causing something to loose contact....................

Just tried all of the above, I also replaced the spark plug with a brand new one.
Still does it.

Weird!
I guess it's a touching wire but wich one??

Thanks
