P200 Big carb or not?

Hi all,after much thought I'm thinking of going down the big carb route.My set up is 210 malossi,right handed jl and mildly ported casings.Is it worth all the aggro?

Not in my experience mate-i used to run a Readspeed 210 on a p2 carb and thing was a rocket! A well set up 210 even on a standard carb is more than enough for a road scoot

Mine must need sorting then .Been dyno'd with what i have but still only do about 70 ,sounds like i need someone who is good with vespa to have a look

last 2 malossis ive ran, a 221 that ran a 30mm delly, and my current 172 T5 with a 28mm delly, both are better than running with a 24, (I tried both on standard carbs) the T5 is better on fuel as well.

such a lot depends upon the level of tune ,a std carb (24mm) can only handle so much and are restricted not only on float bowl size but also with the flow rate ,bigger carbs help overcome this prob .

An SI24/24 is fine on a low tune 210. Once you have tuned the 210 so the 24/24 needs a main jet bigger than a 140 then you need to think about a big carb. If your 210 is only running a 135 main jet then putting a big carb on this engine won't make any differance.
