Its crazy that say Topper and Dougs Gp6 bike with all the work that goes with it does as you say 37hp. Then an un welded TS with road pipe does 40hp thats good going! I'm looking forward to seeing the new 50hp Gp6 out at Croft it should be quite a thing....thats over 30% more horse power than people estimate toppers to have wow, thats got to be a massive difference on the track!
Dan, I look back every now and again, same old stuff just the figures get higher. Got a skip on my drive at the minute whats left of scooter stuff is off in, gotta make room for more old Jap shite!

Don't think it's Grp6, but I thought your scooter shoot out motor was 47.5 corrected and/or circa 50bhp uncorrected?

yes a few months ago i saw circa 47 on the dyno on the shootout motor,its only worth quoting corrected figures with the right factor in place as it gets misquoted or dissed if its anything but.
ive got a group6 no.73 out at croft for another practice/testing day to see if we can keep it alive

Sorry...I didn't mean spec-wise, I meant literally....two different engines. But I think I've woken up enough now and am catching up, and you do mean two different motors (but similar spec each).
So if the shootout motor was circa 47bhp, what bhp are you expecting at the back wheel on race day for the croft/grp 6 motor then?

ive reused the shootout motor as the group 6 motor and built/finishing building a spare both use different parts/specs to the original shootout motor
ive backed the motors off to approx 40 in hope of keeping them alive in there air cooled form so will have to see how they cope ,obvious choice is to go liquid cooled and fully mod and weld cases but would like to stay true to the original concept of std unwelded cases/air cooled which can easily cope at a sprint meeting but will have to learn the hard way(as many others have) to find out what is sustainable at the track,all good for development

Aye.....you are right there Darrell, 15 seconds on a sprint track can withstand many weak points to gain an edge, much more so than 6 minutes on a race track....which in itself, can withstand more weak points that say a road-going scooter....which again also come in many formats (quick spurt to the local rally once a year, or thousands of reliable miles all year round). Each motor needs consideration.
