for whatever reason be it lack of interest, lack of funds, no time or whatever most of us gave the australian
national on the gold coast this weekend a wide berth.
however some of us managed a ride up through the adelaide hills this morning which was superb, sun shining and
no traffic. next weekend is the clare valley <wine region> overnite run which promises more of the same.
the attached clip shows some of the scooters out this morning. most of the lambrettas tuned in some way and also the older vespas. the adelaide scooter boys are a mix of aussies and ex pats and take it seriously as the vid shows.
will post some road trip footage of next weekends run.
any questions feel free to ask.
ps. sorry my cameraman work is below average :fb:

info from owner...

My Sprint is a 1968... motor is a Malossi 225 (62mm PEP crank, MMW reed valve with BGM 30 carb with Mikuni fuel pump and SIP "NG" race exhaust... ) bloody thirsty on petrol.. but man it goes fast....

I am running SIP rear shocker and BGM front... It won "Best Vespa Street Racer" at Perth National 2011....

The seat came from Scooter Center (Hurricane fastback)

I went to the australian national rally this weekend and for the most part I enjoyed it ,it was my first rally in Oz and just down the road from where I live ,I still can't work out how many people here ride scooters or what goes on the rest of the year here, apart from local rides out ,It does seem quite a small scene here and everyone I've met has been great 8-)
anyone can buy a dremel, but does that make them a scooter tuner

there is plenty going on around the capital cities, and there has always been scooter clubs since the 5ts.
i lived in perth for a good few years, but to be honest i much prefer adelaide, the boys seem more focused on
set ups and riding and not the comedy mod px scene... :fb:
