hi mick id prefer a 30mm dellorto on a piston port ,the pwk has a relatively small float bowl and needle valve and being a bit thirstier than the reed at risk of fuel starvation ,if you have one set the float to maximum u can get away with
i used an asso 1.5mm ring piston that ive seen come out of some high mileage tuned barrells in good order so safe enough on a tune to suit it

hi chris
i dont think it was at bdc but if you wished to put a similar window into your piston you could gauge it from the the gudgeon pin position, the window i did is an odd shape to match the inlet shape but a little smaller on one side to give strength to the piston where there wasnt much meat, there is a crank angle thats most beneficial for the inlet to be clear at so i try to maximise clearance at this point so sometimes a window sometimes a skirt cutaway and sometimes both
cheers Darrell

i didnt recommend any gearing its down to personal preferance sometimes and this chap chose to leave it on std set up
but with that power/rpm should be fine in the 4.8 area

it might pull it but give a feeling of constantly been a gear too high ,im not a fan of overgearing, think of it like a moped with enough max power to do 50 mph you woudnt gear it for 70 as it would still only do 50 but struggle to pull top gear and be like a slug getting there
yet many scoots are set up on 90/100mph gearing yet realistically most will do 65-85 max
