didnt´t know where else to post it, but i am digitalising some old VHS stuff from racing in the early nineties right now.

The winner of the Euro Scooter Challenge was offered around 60 Pounds if he didn´t come last in the Mito Cup racing. Mike Davis took the challenge and entered the first corner in first position, fell back on 4th place and hold this till the end of the race. Some very frustated bikers, a glorious moment for all present. Track is Motodrom brno in Czech Republic. Enjoy, it´s just a few shots from the carousel, but nevertheless:

I believe this was a GP race series similar to the Aprillia Cup series in the USA, but using Cagiva Mito's instead.

a bloke I knew was racing in the Mito cup series...well, he was in the pack following the Lambretta, haha. BEFORE they were all laughing. AFTERWARDS they said their Bikes are 125cc and the Lambretta is a 250...lol

When Stoffi bought this Lammy from mike Davis we had it dynoed @ 32bhp, big number years ago. The Mitos in the cup series are also around the 32 bhp mark @ the rearwheel but have the advantage of seven (!) gears and obviously on such a big track as Brno bikes have their advantage. Would like to see some of todays top boys compete against them.. :-)

Saying Mike had "only" 32 bhp he clocked 180 something km/h (around 117mph) on the (very long) straight in the Mito race, which I think is also not bad today ;-) The scoot I was working on in 1994 had a mucho modified steel Lambretta cylinder with 3 boost ports and an external 6-petal reed and was carrying the number one..this "only" did 168kmh or 105 mph, so Mike´s was fantastic these days. Oh diggin out another one after a severe seizure during a split LC head...it´s in the pits in brno and everybody is just taking the p155 as we knew we couldn´t get any power from putting a new, unmatched head on :-)
