How are the magnets fixed to brass flywheels? Heard a horrible grinding sound so pulled the flywheel; I can see that a groove has been cut into the mag housing as the pin (?) has started to back out of the flywheel behind one of the the magnets. The magnet seems firmly attached though ...

What should I do?

Thanks,

Dan

What JIMS said.
Just scrapped a load of them(unexpected bill-high brass and ali. prices at scrappy ;)) and that is exactly how they go together. Once you get one magnet out, the rest all come out easy.
The pin you are talking about is a roll pin that just barely stops the ali. fins from spinning. The fins must be heated and then pressed over the brass magnet housing to get them tight. They may of even done the heat/cold thing with the magnets, it is awful tight up in that thang(that's what she said;).
That's not going anywhere...
