the time has come to change my tyres was thinking of going tubeless which is the best rim af or sip any ideas thanks :wtf:

i have neither mate,but i think if you do a search you will find that the sip ones are the ones to go for.

Running the SIPs, lovely, no more pumping up tyres!

Not had any issues with my AF rims, so far ( that's put the mockers on it lol) Nice quality rims

Ive had both types but personally wasnt happy with the gap between the hub and the rim on the AF ones just wasnt happy with weight of the scoot on the hub studs,so i ended up selling them and buying another set of SIP rims the fitment in my opinion is far better and comes with extra long hub studs and Norlock washers.However i know several people who run the AF ones with no issues.

Currently running AF ones but after fitting a set of SIP ones for someone i'll be changing. Just nicer way of doing things, longer studs, easier to get at the tyre valve on the rear rim and nicer wheel nut and washer arrangment. Also the well in the rim on the SIP ones makes tyre fitting easier. Never had an issues with the AF ones in use though.

I've been using the AF ones for 5 months with no problems. The rims aren't a tight fit against the hub edges however if correctly torqued up, the weight of the the scooter and rider will not be on the studs but will transfer through the mating surfaces of the rim and hub........well thats the theory, and it works with alloy car wheels!

Agreed, works on motorcycles with single sided swingarms to.

I also agree,but correct me if im wrong the wheel nuts on a car/single sided swing arm are conical at the mating surfaces thus centralizing the rim to hub by taking up exessive play
On scooter rims they are not just bog standard nuts/washers

ive got the sip ones, got the rear done ok but had to abort the front yesterday as i couldn't get the hub studs undone on scootrs disk brake, anyone got any tips on getting these undone? couldn't get socket in so tried with spanner plenty of bloodied knuckles later threw a strop, swore a lot, kicked things and left it.
