when i bought my ts1 kit from ray, he recomended the 34mm dellorto, it was trimmed on a lathe to give pannel clearance, but the scooter ran much better with the pannel off so cut a hole in it.

What about a mikuni tmx30? Much cheaper than the dellorto you're looking at and I think gives good panel clearance.

What are people's views on these carbs?

The 30mm VHSH is a smaller carb that the 34 VHSB. I was very happy with a VHSA 32mm, which used to be Taffspeed's carb of choice, on an MB manifold. The carb mouth lip was machined back a little to clear with the initial standard TS1 manifold, which gave plenty of panel clearance with the MB item. The VHSH 30 is a very good carb and I have a number of mates running them on TS1s.

I also have pals running TMX Mikunis and they like those too.
