Polini 210 ALU, did your rings need filing?

I’ve got 6 scooters, was working on more than one when I put my polini kit on. I have about 500kms on it. Was thinking about it today, and I can’t remember checking the rings in the cylinder. It’s the problem of jumping between several projects on the go. I probably did, but before I open it up to confirm, did people find out of the box are the rings the correct size?

Thx
David

Mine were fine, cant tell you the gap as a mate measured them while I was porting the cases, its done a couple of 1,000 miles since without issue, had trouble with the squish being huge, got it down to 1.4mm, the circlips were a tw@7 to get on though, I run timing at 18 degrees & it sits around 320f through a SIP 2.

I know better but just installed the kit and started running it. At 600 kms I opened it up. Rings are fine. I had same squish issue and got rid of the head gasket. This got it down to 1.4. I believe it’s up around 1.8 you get pre-ignition. My piston had too much carbon, I’m running too fat. I was doing 3% for break in, thinking of dropping down to 2%. I’m also running a SIP 2. What jetting do you have?
