HI, I have just cleaned and re-installed the standard carburettor, however there is now a very definite flat spot when I initially twist the throttle. Once past the flat spot then everything else is fine. I have tried adjusting the air screw from 1 turn to various other positions but nothing seems to make much of a difference. Before cleaning the carb the scoot was running fine.
Any ideas will be more than welcome as I am now struggling to get it sorted.

Do the basics ;
1. Check its seated correctly first.
Dont over tighten it they are prone to warping.
2. Take it back off and completely strip it, carb cleaner it and blow it out with compressed air.
3. Check every jet is clear, use a jet cleaner to run through them.
4. Reassemble with new gaskets and a new float needle.
Its likely cleaning it has pushed some shite where it shouldnt be.
Good luck
