According to one internet source - and we all know how reliable the internet can be - my Vespa P200e has a 2.0 gallon fuel tank and a reserve of 0.55 gallon.
I suspect but am not absolutely positive that the reserve 0.55 gallon is part of the 2.0 gallon.
Is this correct? Thanks.

107.6 miles, 1.778 gallons, 60.5mpg
And looking into the tank, it appeared that fuel level was close to where I should have needed to turn to reserve.
So I am wondering if my American style fuel valve control is mounted correctly and working.

Oh, that fuel is high test non-ethanol at about 60 cents per gallon more than regular with ethanol. Thus the price.
