T5 crank

Can a T5 crank as likes done with P2 cranks, be cut to increase the inlet timing

It can. I can't find any of the booklets that came with the malossi 172 kits but if you can get hold of one it'll give you a suggestion on how much to cut. I've never done it myself. I hate too much vibes from an engine and my fear is it would create too much due to the weight/balance of the crank being altered. If someone replies on this thread and says it doesn't increase vibration I'll do it myself!

Sorry Norrie, I was convinced there was a diagram of the crank and how much to remove. Also I thought there was a detailed drawing of how to modify the standard head because I used what I saw in the manual to modify my own before I bought a proper one. Current kit is 6 years old, blew up 2 before that so it's a while since I had to read the manual. Must be getting old......
