Thought I'd solved this one, and was feeling prematurely smug with my spannering skills only for it to bite me in the arse 50 miles later
Spaco 24/24 E oil injection carb leaking oil from the carb base gasket (interface between the carb and the carb box)
Below is what I did last time, only for it to fail again a week or so later
1 - new gasket
2 - lapped carb base
3 - new carb bolts, flat washers, and spring washers
4 - light smear of hermite blue on the gasket
5 - Torqued carb bolts to 14 lb ft
Anything I have missed?

14ftlbs or 14lbsin ? 14 ftlbs is a lot for relatively small bolts
Haynes manual
11.57 --> 14.47 lb ft
also confirmed here

So any idea's what else could be wrong?

ive just rebult an oil injection lml engine for one of my mates, very low mileage 2000 or so from new, big end had siezed up, also piston had previously nipped up as well, i guessed it was a fuel problem, eg not enough, but when he got the engine out and brought it round the problem was obvious, the clutch side of the engine was dripping with oil and road dirt, apart from a clean patch under the carb were the fuel mixture had been escaping. when i took the carb off the gasket was fine, but under the reedvalve there was no gasket or sealer at all, i was shocked the engine had lasted as long as it did. not sure if yours is the reedvalve type, if so did you remove it and check for a gasket, i used yambond on this lml i would recomend it to you as well, clean both surfaces with panelwipe first and it sticks and seals the 2 parts very well,

Have you turned the carb box over and filled the oil track
live life your a long time dead
@hat - Yes I'm using auto-lube. Nothing is blanked off
@holty - I guess I could try a different sealant. Not sure if this is the issue.
Edit - can you still buy Yambond - I'll give this a go
@ducksta - sorry I'm not following you
I have managed to pick up a genuine mint Dellorto to replace the Spaco. Maybe this will solve whatever is up?

I had this plus a leak from oil bottle inside frame leaking out pure 2T. Got fed up and blanked everything up and went premix. Not a drip since
