SIP recommended using both a resistor cap and plug for the speedo but I've read conflicting info that you shouldn't use a resistor cap and plug as this leads to a weak spark causing starting issues? Any real life feedback on this?

Also, once fitted what are 'healthy' temperature and rpm values?

Hi, yes you'll need a resistor plug for an SIP speedo to work correctly. These have an 'R' in the plug code.

You don't say what model of scooter you're fitting it to but for example with a Lambretta you'll would need to use such as a NGK BR9ES or a Champion RN3R.

A suitable plug cap for any models is such as an NGK LB05EMH.

Hope this helps.
