t5 malossi carb size

Running a 30mm dellorto on my t5 172 reed valved engine, on speaking to a reconised tuner today he recommended to use a 26mm any body else use this size and whats the feed back

Dependent on pipe bla bla, 28/30MM for a basic reed = Malossi, 30+ for anything bigger eg. RD350 +

+ ALWAYS follow your reccomended tuner's advice so you have continuity (about where his balls are so you can kick 'em when you need to) ;)

I've recently taken a 30ml Dellorto and Malossi reed valve off my T5 172.
It was as flat as a fart.
Switched to a LML reed plate adaptor and standard T5 carb.
Also changed the SIP pipe for a JL righty.
Absolutely flys along.
So much more power it's like night and day.
