Advice please
This is the suggested parts list for a winter engine build for a 2007 125 px disc engine .
Is there anything that looks wrong or should be changed??
Believe you get what you pay for so looking for top spec parts.
Parmakit Ignition
2kg, 1.5kg or 1kg?
Parmakit 187 cylinder kit
Centre plug or later plug head?
60mm Serie Pro Reedvalve Crankshaft
Malossi X360 reedvalve and 28mm PHBH
BGM Superstrong CNC Cosa type clutch
20, 21, 22 or 23 tooth?
Reinforced SIP bearing set
Thanks
Phil

Interesting shopping list! If it were me I would forget the reeds unless you just have to have them 'cos you like the sound they make.
I would be tuning it just for speed, so I would put a 1kg flywheel, 21 tooth clutch, 60mm properly cut (non reed)crank. Match the transfers and open the inlet. Sort the barrel for max power at 9000 rpm. Squish adjusted to 1mm. And a 30mm flat slide (as I saved money on the reeds).
If its too powerful it is easy to change to a 22 tooth clutch later

I'd weigh the clutch and make sure the flywheel is heavier....

Probably the cut crank would be fine, not the reed crank......but up to you.

Personaly i wouldnt bother with a reed valve on a 125.
It sounds like you have been going through the SIP parts book and gone wild (we all done it)
However what i would suggest is to keep it simple, especially if you dont have much experience of engine building and tuning.
Start with a cylinder kit carb and exhaust and then "grow" your engine from there.
Good luck

2kg flywheel.
Centre head. There's no advantage to the side plug, is there?
Which Serie pro one? bell shape? The Worb5 modded mazzucheese ones from SIP are nicely balanced.
Why a malossi reed valve? Why not an LTH one? The Malossi ones need more welding, don't they?
Port the cases yourself too - it'll need a bit of welding at the back on both sides. The helpful chap from Taffspeed has photos on his FB page of that, that you could copy. And, give it a bit more exhaust port timing too.
Gearing - standard 65/23 with a short fourth gear - 4.8 final drive. You shouldn't have any problem two up with that gearing. The Italian instructions suggest a 4.5 final drive. If you're one up, and not a stunt double for a boulder, that might be worth a go.
