Hi all!
I got two original Lucas 576 lamps to fit on my 1965 Vespa SS180.
But I got some repro rubber mounts that doesnt fit at all.
The angle on the rubber is way to steep, so I'll be lighting up the woods and not the road...
Anyone knowing how or where to get rubber mounts that fit the legshield of a Vespa SS180?
Thanks!

Hi Øyvind (does that translate into 'East wind'?)
It seems that you have some reproduction or possibly original Lucas 576 fog lights.
Is the attachment point bolt below the light or behind the light?
Regards

My name translated to English would be something like "Isle Wind"...
Anyway, I got original Lucas 576 WFT Fog Lights.
But the rubber mounts for the light on the legshield is some repro stuff I bought from UK...
If I use the rubber as it is, the lights will point to each side, instead of on the road... (get my point?)
Hope for help!

Hi again Islewind.
My question was about the two patterns
This one
And this one (two)
I think from your description you have the first type?
If correct, you will have some lambretta rubber mounts...?
If you have original 576 lights then the light reflector can be loosened and moved within the mounting to point in the correct direction (back of the light).
If you have reproduction 576 lights they do not have this possibility, so you must shape the rubber.
I have not done this as I had no need to when fitting mine to a Lambretta series 2 as i got the original (flexible) light unit. But the problem would have been the same with reproduction lights.
I was doing a complete re-build. 'In my head' I was planning to heat the legshield so hot that it melted the rubber: hold the rubber in place and repeat until correct. If you have a 'scrap' legshield you could always do this. If the Vespa is painted and no spare shield: then 'flap-wheel' into shape mechanically? (like 'rondon' says)
Both methods are going to be messy! (aluckily not neccessary for me!)
Good luck

Hi again!
I got this one; (no repro, but originals!)
And I (unfortunately) got this mounts;
I know it is possible to adjust the mounts, but would like to fit something made for Vespa, instead of the modded Lammy stuff...

I don't know of any Vespa specific mounts for these lights.
Have a look at the car (MG) side to see what they use. Some useful information here http://www.mgexperience.net/phorum/read ... 122,page=1
