vespa engine temp s.i.p wots normal???

pinasco 215 with mec 60mm race crank, spaco 26mmcarb,scorpion pipe. timing is at 16 and carb is 52pilot/be3 with 140main, engine temp is at 200 to 250f on s.i.p speedo at cruising 65ish. plug is browny grey after a run but very hot to hold, is this ok temp to run on or is it gona meltdown on me??? any ideas how to get it running cooler?? pulls well and idles well ???? any ideas

You say pinasco 215 with 60mm crank. You did use a packing plate didn't you?
I say this because with the pinasco a lot of people thought you could get away with not using a packer on a 60mm crank, however if you use without a packer it will make the compression too high.
Do you have a fast flow tap fitted?

Could never get mine to run right with one of those 26 carbs, ended up with a phbh 28 and fuel pump on that set up .

200 to 250 degrees F is fine. My polini goes up to 265 climbing hills and comes down to 230-240 on the flat

yeah fast tap and fuel pump fitted, compression ok now since i fitted a mallossi headgsket.
