What's the size is the slow running jet on a 2008 PX125 (SI 20/20)? The Haynes manual says it's a 45/100 but I've got a 45/140 in my carb?

I've been having problems getting the bloody thing tuned. It ticks over ok from cold but, after about 10 miles, it loses all power when I pull away and I really have to rev it to stop it stalling.

standard spec from my notes is main jet stack 140/BE5/100 and pilot (idle, slow running whatever you want to call it) is 45/140
45/140 = 3.11111
45/100 = 2.22222
the lower the number the richer the jet as you will see the 45/100 is a lot richer and could explain it.

is the bike standard ?

BUT did piaggio alter jetting when they tried to improve the omissions ? someone with a same age bike maybe able to help

put the 45/140 in and reset the air screw at 1.5 turns out and see how you go

best of luck

Hi Gaz, thanks for the response. Everything points to the Haynes manual being wrong and the idle/slow running jet should be 45/140. After many hours (& months!) of messing around and not being able to get it to run properly, I decided to buy a new carb, fitted it this morning and it runs a treat. The old carb is dumped!

thinking back i had this on a t5 years ago out of the blue it would start fine from cold run for about 15 minutes and then you couldn`t get it to tick over and it felt let it was over jetted - tried stator, cdi, plug leads , caps, plugs and re jetting and it turned out to be the carb - changed it over and bingo

best of luck
