I met a guy at one of the early Market harboro parts fairs who swore he had a Spanish lambretta with a working electric starter on it. He didn't seem to have any reason to lie to me, so I guess it was true.

I've seen plenty of suitable mag housings, but never the whole shooting match.

My mate had a Vietnamese lammy that had one. . . . . at one time ScootRS fitted these to their restos but they only worked really well when the engine was warmed up.

My Nammer had one. I still have the starter motor, but the magflange is now fecked, not by the starter motor, but internally where the bearing seats are. Flywheel still has the ring gear on it. Keep meaning to get another magflange and get it drilled out in the exact right place, a lump of ally welded on and refix the starter motor. It needs a fairtly hefty battery to turn the engine over, and worked fine, especially once the engine was warm as Laurence says.

Not a great picture but you can see where the casing is modified to take a starter motor, it's a late Jet200 engine
