Anyone with a set of Verniers who can measure up a new RIV rear hub bearing they might have lying around? Also need measurements for a Casa one and an MBD Race-Tour one. All at standard rom temperature, if possible.

Reason being is that I'm getting a leak at the rear hub and it's definitely the bearing. Have already tried to re-seat the existing (Casa) bearing using standard Loctite, without much luck. I have now got hold of some thicker Loctite and will also be replacing the layshaft O-ring.

But I'm also hoping the tolerances for each different gearing might be very slightly different, in which case I'll be ordering the one with the tightest potential fit.

unless the bearing was a real loose/sloppy fit into maybe worn casings,I would first suspect the seal and o ring as you say.........
another think to maybe check is your breather......it could be blocked and pressurising the crankcase....and so forcing oil out where it would not normally go.......
but anyway i,ll check out some bearing sizes for you.

ok matey, i,ve just measured about 20 different ones of various makes.....
most are 51.97/51.98........
however, the NBC india one was the biggest at 52.06...........

GF..........51.98
NBC india........52.06

The seal is only a couple of months old. I might have fitted it wrong, but it's not one of those you can cock up easily, like a crank or kickstart one. Checking the breather is a cracking suggestion, hadn't thought of that.

I strongly suspect the casing IS worn, as you say. Measuring different bearing sizes is just an added bit of insurance in the hope that if there is a tiny, tiny difference it might help a bit.

Any idea what the two Indian ones are like, especially the NBC India?
